I am starting this thread to gather information about AOD's and how to firm up the shifts and how to get the floor shifter to shift 1-2-3 and 4 by some other means. What can be done without removing the transmission. Let's assume that a 24,000 transmission cooler is required anything being done to this AOD. I have a B&M installed in front of the left bumper air inlet.
Lentech sells a valve body that will do all of this for ~$400 plus installation. I did a search a while ago and found only 1 complaint. That was it downshifts to 3 when WOT is reached in 4, and blew that motor. Any other disadvantages to just buying a lentech valve body?
Are there other valve body's available that does this?
What shift kits are available that would do this?
By doing any of these modifications to the transmission cause any undue stress that would cause it to fail sooner then leaving it stock?
Can a AOD be done that would allow 3rd to be non lockup and 4th to still be locked up for better fuel economy?
If anyone else wants to ask these type of questions, feel free to ask in this thread, I want to share this one.
Thanks in advance for any information you may give.
