Higher Than Normal Idle After 5 Speed Conversion?

Hey dudes,

Im done with my 5 speed conversion. Not really. Got it to turn and such i just need to install the hydraulic line and bleed it out and put the interior back together. But anywho. I got all the vac lines good. The car right now is idling in NEUTRAL at 1000-1100 RPM. I tried turning the screw on the throttle body but that was the lowest i got. In the decals in the engine bay it says Idle for MANUAL TRANSMISSION 750 RPM, Automatic is 550 RPM? How do i get it that low? Is the high idle due to the fact that the engine doesnt have more mass on the crank? Anyone had a problem like this?

did you change out your cam? I think the auto and the 5 speed have different cams, but I dont know if that would make the idle do that.

Mine has always idled at 900 with the adjustments at normal. It might just be that the engine is cold, after it warms up the idle will drop down. The eec will always try to make the engine idle at the programmed speed no matter what you do.
