View Full Version : Slave Cyl?

On the way home from class something weird happened to my clutch pedal.

1) There's about 3 inches of travel in the pedal before I get resistance.
2) In order to disengage the clutch, I have to put the thing to the floorboard.
3) It catches no matter what you do, and it doesn't seem to disengage all the way.
4) Shifts are a little rough.

The clutch seems tight...it's just the resistance.

Any ideas?

sounds like the slave cylinder to me TJ. Have you checked your fluid level?

Yeah TJ,
Like I said at work today that it sounds like that's what it is. Too bad that's not coverd in your warranty. Looks like you'll be adding a second red ford to your parking lot collection, better buy a second set of red jackstands! ;) ;) :D

Just give in and get an old reliable Mustang.

TJ do you have torsion bar suspension? I had the slave cylinder fail on my 2000 4X4 Ranger and thought it was covered under warranty and had it towed to the local ford dealership but it wasn't covered and ended up costing me just under $600.00 out the door.

I've got 2WD, so I don't think so.
