I went out in the garage ,Which wreaked of gas , and opened the door pulled sweet out and there was a puddle in the area of just behind the passenger rear tire.....on the gas fill side... ...anybody have any leak problems????......Nick you got a spare lift??????

Yes, I've haven't been able to fill my car up since I've owned it, at least since the first fill up.
I haven't checked into it very much, but from what I've just come across on the forums it's usually the gasket for the sending unit. Or maybe it was the filler neck? Anyhow whatever it was it seemd pretty common. ;)

Oh nooooooooooo.......
Maybe you need a litter box for Sweet..... :D
You really need to get this fixed ASAP.......
Like Kurt's, mine did that as well......I only filled up when I was on long trips and there would be gas fumes in the car for about 60 miles....
I don't know how my SC never burned up with this problem......
Over the years, the high octane fuel ate up the plastic connectors on top of the fuel pump......
Hey, while you have the gas tank out, you can do the conversion for the better exhaust..... :o
Then you could train the control arms to do their thing, as well.....

That time bomb problem is actually where the metal fuel line goes through the fuel pump assemble mounting plate. It's not the actual fuel pump gasket/O-ring but the brazing that Ford used to hold that tube in place breaks and allows fuel to seap out only when the car is filled to max capacity. The only way I have heard of people fixing it aside from replacing the whole unit is to take the fuel pump assembly out and have it dissasembled and the tube brazed back into place.
Mine was the same way when replaced my fuel pump at the dyno tune meet, but unfortunately I didin't have the time to fix it while I was in there, so I just don't fill up all the way and things are fine, although it would be nice to have the peace of mind that I won't blow up while driving!!! :o

With the amount of Tbirds/Cougars out there I would think if there was any significant risk of danger there would have been many by torched by now. It may be a risk but I imagine most people either get it fixed(normal people who don't know enough about cars to not get it fixed) or just don't fill up to the point that it's leaking.
What about some JB Weld?
Kurt
yeah mine leaks too but I never have more than a 1/4 tank full. More than that slows me down at the track.

Only fill her up when you are going to be driving alot......
I filled mine up once while on vacation and parked it at the hotel....
When I came out to get the rest of my stuff, there was fuel running out from under the car and puddling on the ground........
I had to get in the car and drive like a banshee until I used up enough fuel and it quit leaking......
