What valve should be in the place of that red plug in the picture?

Pressure Release Valve???

I believe that is where the pressure release valve goes. When my radiator fan malfunctioned a few years back the AC condensor overheated causing an increase of pressure in the lines. The pressure release valve opened up (it makes a lot of noise when it blows open). Unfortunately, it didn't work fast enough to prevent blowing out most of the seals on the lines. The lesson in this is to make sure you have an operational cooling fan if you are going to use the AC.....

Any competent auto supply should be able to get this for you. Just tell them year, make & model of you vehicle. I bought one not long ago and I think it cost around 10 -15 bucks.
