My trunk gets wet on the drivers side which is the cause of my intermitant starting problem. The the seam sealer is cracked all the way from the bottom corner of the back window to the end of the seam towards the tail light.
I plan on removing the old sealant with a sand blaster. Will this work or should just scrape the old stuff out?
So far I've only checked at Advance Auto and they don't have seam sealer. Anyone know where I can get some?
Also any advice/tips will be greatly appreciated.

Kurt

Kurt, check out 3M structural adhesives, including their seam sealer.

As to method, I would scrape, but that's just me. You'd have more control over just what you're removing, and not screwing with / messing up too much of the surrounding area. Cheers, :)

I know that will make it faster, but can it stop my leak?

Hi Kurt good talking to you the other night. Diane has a lot of knowlkege on this type if sealents being she works with a lot of diffrent materials in her art work and I have a bunch of this stuff we got in a box from somebody by mistake we have fixed a lot of parts and tears with this up arounf the dash on our jeep we used to let Jeep Chrysler do it but they used clear silicone the last time when we went there to ask them about the same leak they asked us who did this Sh-- job on this dash??? We asnswered them, you guys did. He just mumbled and told us we had to change the heater core, we aswered, you just did, he then walked away and we stayed there under the jeep and the manager asked us what we were doing under the jeep? we answered him with the tech called us here to ask us who did this Sh-- job and the manager asked us who did this sh-- job? We answered you did. We fixed ourselves for free they wanted another $700.00 for another heater core they had changed a month ago. The Jeep is a 1997 with 67,000 miles you know why it has 67,000 miles only? it's been to the dealership 53 times this is a fact and honest truth. We still have the jeep! Chrysler has completely restored the Vehicle in 53 visits. Nice jeep now! and its got every option even has heated seats! 1997 Grand Cherokke Limited edition 4x4 with the 318 and beautiful tan Interior. We're starting to like it and it's still has warrantee. 33,000 miles we exted the warranty 3 years or 33,000 miles
Just had to tell the story. I have not been on the boards for awhile so I figured I would catch up.
Take care and hope to see you at the spinningwheels event or sooner let us know if we can help in anyway as usual...
Take care in Tenessee
