The $500 special? Sounds cool. The more SC's we have the better!

Congrats Keith,
500 is a steal. I bought mine for 800 and it was a car that sat for about 6 months prior to me buying it. Mike had to jerry right the ingnition switch to work so he could drive it up to Va Beach. I never saw the car until it was mine. Mike told me about it. He looked at it once and told me I HAD to buy it. I really had no idea what I was about to buy...I mean I knew what the MN12 T-bird was, my parents have a '95 V8 and I knew the SC was a rare find and $800 was cheap. So, I trusted him and gave him the loot. I couldn't get down to Knotts Island to even look at it. So, Mike and my dad drove down there to buy it, make it runnable and limped it back home with my dad following. It needed alot of TLC replacing all fluids and filters and deep cleaning to get it respectable and then BOOM goes my head gaskets only months after I had it, which was the begining of my schooling about supercoupes and the start of the beast you see before you :D
Have fun with it!

In the last 6 months I have acquired 3 Super Coupes, 89,90,and 91. I got each at different times for ironcally $400 each. The 89 is a straight shell (thanks Justin). The 90 I happened up on at a junk yard on HWY17 while having a yard ornament (trans-maro) crusher, clean interior, 5-speed, good running engine. The 91 (the first of the triad) was intended to be the runner, but is twisted, and now the parts donor car. Planning on throwing the 90 engine, tranny, and interior in the 89 shell, and parting the rest. The rear brakes and ground effects from the 91 (BLACK) are spoken for. Other than that.... I am keeping the spare blower and heads for "tinkering", for now anyway. I found out one of the spare heads is non SC :( Other than that, I should be able to mix stuff up for a clean ride. I have a feeling building up the SC is gonna snowball on me the way my Land Cruiser did
It's always good to hear someone getting a good deal on a cool ride. Congrats on the 89 metalman! OOPS that should read "NICKLEMAN"
