seperator plate differences

what are the if any differences between the auto and manual seperater plates.dose any one have any pics of them.
 
they are not the same... the auto has a bunch of holes on it... the 5 speed only has 2 holes... the one for the starter and for the center crankshaft hole.... dont use the AOD on a 5 SPEED
 
hmm thats a big risk if u are using a AOD plate for a 5 speed. u are risking getting a whole bunch of crap into the housing....
 
There are at least two versions of the AOD plate - originally, my 91 had an aluminum plate. It got damaged so I bought another one off somebody here. It was the same shape, but steel instead of aluminum. I'm not sure what the advantage is either way, although I'd probably rather have aluminum since it's lighter and doesn't rust.
 
no the aluminum dosen't rust it corrodes really bad though.i have 4 of them off AOD's and all but 1 was corroded to nothing.
