I bought a PLTVD122 DVD player for my SC and I knew it would take some rigging to wire up correctly, but it's giving me troubles... this is a crude diagram of how it's set up... this is set up with the previous wiring harness, the old radio was cut out. I think I have the JBL amp thingy.

the ACC (yellow wire) is leading to the 15 fuse (bottom middle, under the empty spot)

All red lines are live/hot and all black lines are grounds
the black patches over the female connections are the plugs and how I have them wired.

between ACC and starting the car, it gets a kick of power then turns off -- and when I turn off the car, the speakers pop -- the volume at it's lowest point isn't very silent (how do I fix this) -- and I drove around for 15 - 20 minutes, no problem -- but then I turned the DVD player off with the remote with turned it back on, and I had no audio or feeback what so ever...and I would like the player to start when the car starts.. any ideas? and it shuts off between the car running and ACC -- it's a mess.. any suggestions?

the blue remote output is connected to the old blue remote output line (if this is not hooked up, I get no audio/feedback)

Can someone explain the audio system with the amp and all that? I'm by no means an audiophile :D

Thanks in advance.

ttt -- please, anyone? I've checked the fuses, and the audio seems to play off and on.

There are adapters you can purchase to adapt the JBL harness to standard radios. turning on the JBL amp requires a special signal from the head unit that's done via applying a voltage or something on a signal line. The adapter you buy is wired up to apply that signal.

The 35th website has great info about the wiring for the jbl system. I haven't reviewed it all but I think it might help. What I posted above is just what I recall from reading stuff over the years.

it's not a radio -- it's a DVD player with only a video, L-audio and R- Audio plug ( and a dolby digital plug) -- I'm trying to hook the audio up with my car speakers and amp.. Thanks though -- The wiring diagrams are useful :D

Regardless you'll have to work around the amp if you want to dump your audio down the same wires.

Good luck.
