I have a rebuild 98' Mustang tranny. I had Alan build me a 9.5" locking 3000-3200 stall converter. I have a 28,000 GVW B&M cooler but I dont think that will be enough. Should I go to a 40,000? Where can I get a stacked plate one at? Summit does not specify GVW.

This stack plate B&M cooler should do the job.

Since your not running a non locking converter, 28K GVW should be plenty.

Goto Ebay & look at Item number: 7978739476

Then search for the rest of the seller's item. ... First read about this cooler. I just picked one up. It'll be here Thurs. ... Should do more than what you need. Just got to determine how big you'll need. Dave might be right. The one you have should work. .. Throw in a gauge & see how she runs.

Seeing that you are in texas I suggest that big 40k unit. Even with lockup you cannot overcool the transmission in those conditions.
If you were up north that 28k would probably be enough, don't bother with that bypass valve they include it's more trouble than it is worth. I'd suggest just running that cooler alone with 3/8 lines (you'll need different case fittings) If you decide to use the radiator as well you'll need to change the fittings in it and run through the cooler first or you will find your motor runs a bit warmer. These guys around here probably assume you have an aod transmission which don't need much of a cooler because they use a direct drive system.

Actually Bulkpart.com is the cheapest place I have found. JL told me about that one.
