Well after rebuilding the tranny in my 5-speed SC, I am stuck on getting the shifter rebuilt. I dug up a few previous posts about people who thought they found a new boot part number and I took it to ford, but they cannot get it. What are my options besides getting an aftermarket shifter which I don't want. Can I just use the boot with the tear in it? Or will this significantly reduce its life. Because I can get all the parts except the boot. I am hoping to get it back together soon. I just have been putting it off all because of that boot. What have others done?
