installing new tstat

i just finished installing a new tstat and sending unit, should i wait to let that cure and settle in before putting in new fluids or should it be alright to do it now.....that was a PITA to keep that t-stat in place while bolting down! ..it had better not leak.

I put a dab of red loctite on the top and bottom of the stat and let it dry for about 30 minutes, that way when you flip the housing sideways, the stat doesn't slip down. Then I put the two bolts through the holes, slide the gasket over the bolts, then line it up with the manifold and carefully tighten the bolts down. It usually drips a few drops for the first 10 minutes or so till it warms up and then cools down. Once the gasket swells it stops dripping.

thanks Scott, that is basically what i did, i just didn't know if i should give it some time to cure.
i'll find out soon enough! :)
