DATE; Saturday, July 23d.
If you're so inclined to do a Mapquest, my address is;
59 North Saint Andrews Drive
Ormond Beach, 32174
Phone # 386-673-9767
Cell# 386-562-0094
From south and west; Take I- 95 to exit 268 (Rt 40)
Take the ramp and go right at the end of the ramp, that will be Rt 40 EAST towards the ocean. FROM THE NORTH, same directions and exit, just make a LEFT at the end of the ramp on exit 268.
Next...Go 5 traffic lights, get into the LEFT turn lane at the 5th light. That crossroad will be 5A (Nova Road). Make the left (north) onto 5A and travel approx 2 miles. You will go past a shopping center on your left, then baseball fields(on both sides), then a cemetary again on your left. Immediately after the cemetary on your left, you will see a gated subdivision with a sign out front called "TALAQUAH". Pass that, and then look for the next immediate left, our subdivision with it's own sign out front called "TOMOKA OAKS". Make the left into Tomoka Oaks. (If you go over railroad tracks on 5A you've gone too far).
Once in Tomoka Oaks, go about 200 feet, you will see a landscape island smack in front of you, GO RIGHT at the island onto NORTH SAINT ANDREWS DRIVE.
The road curves and bends, and our house is on the right about 1/2 mile down, we are #59. The house is white and dark teal, and has a big white/teal wishing well on the front lawn. I think I may just park my SC on our front lawn as a marker, so if you can't spot it you're probably dead. It's dangerous to drive dead so have someone else take the wheel at that point.
Long driveway, so park all the way up, We can park some later arriving cars in the grass median between my house and my neighbor's, once we've filled up the driveway itself.
Note to smokers; It's a non-smoking house, and pool deck (sorry ) but there's a deck out front you can sit and smoke if you like, as well as the back yard outside the pool enclosure. I'll put some chairs and ash trays out there. Hope you understand.
If anyone wants beer please bring it, we'll provide all the food and soda, but if there's anything special you'll want, just bring it along.
So if anyone is *vegatarian, come prepared, because we'll have hot dogs & burgers galore,(and maybe grill some chicken too) but no vegan meals.
*I only added that because we just had 20 college age kids here this past Friday and 2 were vegatarian, and it kind of threw us a curve. :eek:
Kids welcome, between the pool and the 2 (very friendly) dogs they should be happy. There's a kids park 1 mile up the road for the truly bored 'youngins, if it comes to that. PLEASE BRING FOLDING CHAIRS if possible. We have enough for about 12 people, but after that it gets tricky. If we don't need them you can leave 'em in the cars.
What time? Uhh...you tell me I guess. I know summer is "iffy" here in Florida with the afternoon thunderstorms, so the earlier the better. I was hoping 12-1 p.m, but since most have to travel a bit, it's ultimately up to you.
I am 1 hour from the east side of Orlando area, 1/1/2 from the theme parks, and 2 1/2 from Tampa.
Hope to see as many of you SC folk as possible. DAN H
