As most people can see, we managed to move off of ezboard and we now run things ourselves which still has some kinks to be worked out, but I think has been pretty successful.
I still need to upgrade the board to version 2.2.6 which forces me to shut down the forums for a few hours. I am trying to see when the site is used least versus when I am available to do this.
In addition, I plan on taking regular database backups in case something horrible were to happen. I also need to shut down the forums for this and because the database is so large, it needs to be for a few hours.
I have instituted a new look/feel to the site and am still in the middle of converting all of the pages to the new look. You can still find many, many pages that need converting, so usually during weeknights I convert a few/fix links, etc.
When I am finished converting all of the pages, I will begin working on making the member section database driven, which means that users will be able to update the information on their member page. I have started to play around with this, I am still learning about session control and security, the last thing I want to have happen is someone hack the database and change people's information.
As always, I am looking for PHP/mySQL developers to assist me and I plan on putting out requests for simple tasks that anyone can do regardless if they are technically inclined.
I thank everyone for their support, encouraging letters and patience.
Regards,
Ron
