Which tranny cooler?

I live in Central Texas where it gets HOT, and I am looking for ways to keep my SC cool.

What types of tranny coolers have ya'll used, and how did they work?

Which generally cool better, fin and tube or stacked plate coolers?

Where did you mount them?

Any general cooling tips would also be appreciated, Thanks.

There are plenty of inexpensive ones out there. Anything you can get will work better than the stock setup... but I'd stick with something with at least 1 sq-ft of surface area.
Oh, and since you stated where you live, drop in and visit the Gulf Coast States forums. There's a meet of in Austin in July.. that should put your cooler to the test. :D

Hey LS, I fired off a PM on a trans cooler for you. I've grown a believer in them as they definitely Can lengthen a trans's lifetime.

I'm a big fan of the B&M 24,000 and 28,000 GVW trans coolers. The stacked plate design is definitely superior to the tube and fin design. As far as mounting locations go, here are a couple pictures of where I usually like to mount them on a MN12.

That's a 28,000 GVW B&M cooler in the pics.

Hope that helps.
