I cant' get there from outside!

Help!
I need the part of the trunk lock mechanism from where the little rod comes out of the tumbler, to the release thingy. In other words, I can insert the key, and turn the little rod that turns in the trunk, but there's nuthin from there to the latch. Can I "latch" on to one from somebody, please???
