View Full Version : FINALLY cam on its way!
I called Coy thursday and he said the cam should be here sometime next week so hopefuly I can get this thing running soon. After everything is done I'm going to see if I can get XR7 dave to come back down here and do another dyno session with us.

Jake, That’s great. I know you’ve been waiting awhile for it. What else do you have going into it? Didn’t you get some heads awhile back? I might be up for a Dave tune again in the fall or winter with the 89 and / or the 93 again.

Hopefully I'll have ole blue by then and I'm in for it too bro.. ;) ...glad to here your cam is finally on it's way..gonna come down when you put it in if thats ok with you just to watch how it's done....If I can fit it into this extremely tight schedule I have... :rolleyes:

yeah the heads came with the kit I bought from Paul Zimmer a couple months back. The kit included Coy Miller heads that are race prepaired, adjustable 1.73 rocker arms, chromoly push rods, "R" camshaft and match ported intake. I called Coy when I bought the kit and he told me to send the cam back to him once I get it b/c there is something wrong with it and he would send me a new one back.
Ho Man, Nice kit to go with the Autorotor. It should be a screammmming machine. :D :D :D You should have the Fla title, would love to see it on the dyno or track. Let us know when you get it done..

You guys are going to make me step up a notch and drive to Florida :) No worries though, I definitely won't be in the 11's this year. I might not get there at all...only time (and money) will tell.
well after getting the run around for the I don't know how many times now the cam is still not here. I called a couple weeks ago on a monday and I was told the cam was delivered to the shop friday but they were busy to ship it then and it would be going out later that day. I waited a couple weeks and called back because I didn't recieve the cam and he says he forgot about me. No problem I know how running a business can make you do that. He says it's on the shelf behind him and it will be going out monday (8/01) and it would be here on thursday. I called him tuesday (8/02) just to make sure he didn't forget about me again and was told it was shipped. Well thursday came and went and so did friday and saturday and still no cam yet. So I'm hoping monday.

I have to send mine back as well. I sure as heck hope it won't take that long.
Have you been ale to get your cam specs from coy? I know that the Valves were short on these heads.So he placed a little type spacer so theywould be the right lenth. They are GM douple springs. O cant seem to get much Information on the cam. I Have the intake and exhaust and seperation. I planning on going up to his shop. I need some asweres. Let me know when you get them back, I have a question to ask you. Otherwise Got a lot happening.What else is new.....

Hope it works out for you, it drives me crazy when something like that happens. He should give you the stright info the first time. I know he is suppose to be one of the best out there but there is no excuse for not shipping on time or not telling you what the real story is. It should not matter that it's just a cam or a complete motor rebuild. Your post started a month ago... Hope you get it this week, sounds like a phone call everyday to me.
The thing that bugs me is I sent his cam back to him and he recieved it on 4/14. So I've been waiting almost 4 months now and it's getting old. Guess you're right Flip, looks like I'll be calling him tomorrow :( .

Hi Jake I'm calling Coy in a few Minutes to find out what the hack is the size of my cam and to explain to me why the heads have to be upgraded???

I haven't called lately b/c I coach my sons football team and these practices seem to be harder on me than my son. I don't get home till 9pm so I'll call you this weekend I've got a few questions for ya.

I have everything off but the harmonic and timing cover and both will be coming off this saturday and I should have most of it back together by sat night. The rest I'll button up during the week. Then it's off to the exh shop to line up the headers to the downtubes.

Great News, can't wait to see what type of power it's going to turn. Let us know when you get it going and if you take it to the track. Would be worth a trip down south for the weekend. :D :D
