Warning lights

Recently, my ABS and Brake lights would command my attention right after startup, as if staying on longer than normal. The period was maybe 3 seconds after the engine started. I haven't specifically paid attn, so I thought I would ask if these come on normally, or if they're being triggered by a problem in the system. If thats the case, what is the most likely cause? I have observed no difference in brake feel.

I may be wrong, but you can allow up to 15 seconds after the car is started for it to complete its self tests. 3 seconds on after start up is nothing to worry about. It may have always done that and you may not have noticed.

I think you have nothing to fear.

The brake bible that was refered to me said that they should stay on for about 5 seconds after ignition

Ok

Thanks for the help.. I've been observing now and they come on every time with the firm ride light, and shut off just before it, so that's normal.
