Was wondering if anyone knows a good place for head porting, and would know the modular engine. After getting destroyed by Ed on the onramp to the QEW I really gotta start getting this car fast! Hell I'm even pondering the DOHC swap

Wanna know what works?

1) blower, roots preferred, centri is also good if complimented correctly and used apropriately (i'm not just saying that because i'm selling mine either!)

2) head porting, BUT only if you can get good flow numbers in the low/mid range AND you match with good cams AND you match the cams with a converter AND you put on a PI intake - otherwise, it's not going to be worth what a reputable porting job would cost (that porting would NEED to be complimented with larger valves!)

3) GEARS! (this would also be a requirements in #2) Proven to know off 1 second in an LX by many (if you're using 3.73's)

DON'T bother with the DOHC swap - it's a waste for a street car. The bottom end performance isn't matched to what you NEED in a 4000 pound car. You can do it if you want, but it'll be lathargic untill you hit about 4500 rpm.... then it'll be "okay".

If you want a comparison to Ed's car - you'll need either #1 and #3 OR #2 and #3 to beat Ed on the street and strip..... if you can drive it. ;)

Right now, I don't have 4g's for a blower system so NA is my option

What I want to do is NPI heads ported with some nice cams (Not sure what) and then a 3.73 Tracloc setup

Oh ya, coming really really soon is a new 2003GT Tranny and a new TC of sorts...Mine's going to explode any day I'd say

Go to www.tccoa.com and search for threads about Fox Lake Power Products, and about Jim O'Neill of Renegade Racing.

He'll also need some good springs and shocks, and sticky rubber ... it was the corner up the ramp that made most of the difference I think. LOL :)

cheers
