As far as i know these will fit no problem will they not? Is there anything i should be worried about? and will they be stickin out past the fenders?

Eh, Scott, from the multiple past dialogues on tire sizes,
my best recollection is that this size is too big.....

245-50-16 is max for conventional SC car tiring,
or its tire dimentional equivalent. Stuff beyond such dimensions
raise clearance probs internal to wheel well geometry, etc.....

Good direction tho in finally going WIDER !

A pessimist has no starter, an optimist no brakes...lol !

ok, i'm not saying that youre wrong (yet, lol), i'm here to get peoples views on this all and hopefully to find someone with thise size of tires on their car. But i am pretty sure i've seen people with these size tires on stock rims and the SCCoA faq's section says:

"The widest tire that is recommended for hte stock 16x7 inch SC or XR7 wheels is a 255 50 16. These tires are approx 10 inches. Most people have no experience any interferance with these tires on suspension pieces, however, most will agree that you should not go wider."

Now no that last part doesn't totally makes sense to me either and thats how it comes out...but yeah it says you can have that wide lol. Anyone else have views?

From what i remember 255 will only fit on the back due to clearence, and front you can get away with 245. I will wait for more people to post, before you make a final choice.

Hi,

I have 255-50 VR 16's on my SC if you want to see what they look like.

As for driving - the front seems to be prone to wander (worn Pirelli 6000's ) .....when I switched them to the back all seems ok. I forget whats on the other end.....same size Bridgestone all season I think. Anyways , I have some near new (less than 200kms) Goodyear eagles in 255-50 but I am not going to fit them on the SC.

The tires look too wide for the rim but clearances seem Ok so it spersonal preference I guess.

If you want to see them I'm in burnaby

lol, thanks for that...they stick out the side of the fender, or not really, just seem to bulge.

Cause yeah, it's a lil bit of prefernce to me for buying tires...plus 125 for 5 tires with say 65% tread all the way around seems pretty good to me (who has no money)...i just don't know a lot about tires or cars in general lol, and don't wanna do something dumb!

Just run lower pressure in the tires to make sure u get even tire wear and not just in the middle.
