what the hell is wrong with people?

Not the house, the property I guess. I somehow doubt there's much nostalgia value in the building itself.
 
Well if you had followed the story you would know that Dennis Rader had a wife and grown children. So his wife should at least be entitled to something for having helped in paying for the property and living with someone whom had lied to her for approx 30 years about the type of person he really was. Also the woman who purchased the property (house) was wanting to provide some financial assistance to the victims families.
 
That was nice of the lady to help out his wife. But the other guy who wanted to “sell it inch by inch on the internet” is a jerk off.
