  Ok, had a really bad day at work. The lower ball joint on the SC took a crap 2 blocks from work this am and so I limp the hurt SC to work. No problem, I re-build the entire ft end today. Yes uppers, lowers, bushings, ect...complete. Not to mention we had a really busy day with mostly a bunch a$$holes to boot. I finish the SC and take it for a drive. Here is where it gets interesting.
I am sitting at the light a block from the shop, patiently waiting for the loght to turn green when....... BAM and the SC gets pushed forward    . Yep, you guessed it. The SC got rear ended.

I get out to see just how bad she looks and the rear bumper is now cracked, the support behind the bumper is toast and the trunk lense is cracked.
  :(
Now I am furious as I look at the Caravan that hit me and there is no damage except some black paint on her bumper.
I am now freaking pissed off and go to the window of the other a$$hole. It is an old fart lady, gosh she has to be in her early 100's with a good ol' oxygen tank shoved up her ****ing nose. I calm down a bit and she is really sorry and does not want me to call the cops as she is afraid she will loose her licence. I took her info and she is going to pay to have my SC fixed, no matter the cost.
Phewwwwwwwwwww, man I feel alot better.
So I guess the SC will be now in the body shop for a week or two starting tomorrow. Not like it has not been off the road for the last 4 weeks getting a new tranny. This sucks  :(
Man that sucks Nick but she'll be back on the road and you'll be driving her in no time.

yeah man i would have called the fuzz so her license would hoefully been swiped. whenever i get into a wreck, my fault or not, i always call the fuzz. i have been in a lot of them too. i think the count is somewhere near 13 give or take a couple. who counts how many accidents they have anyway.

If she follows through with paying for the complete damages, you are in great shape.. Especially with the age of your car. You might have been hard press to convince her insurance company to "not total" your car.
Regardless, sorry to hear about your car.

Yea, that is what I am afraid of. I will talk to her today and make sure she understands that this is her responsiblity and not her insurance company. Heck, I have over $10,000 in this car and NADA and KBB book is $3500.
Gotta love the SC's. I brought the blue deck lid into work today so I can at least close my trunk.

Oh yea the SC looks awsome now with a blue deck lid!
The body shop I am taking it to is 3 1/2 weeks backlogged. So, I get to drive with a blue bumper cover and blue deck lid for 3 weeks.
At least I can still drive it  right?

I'm all for giving people breaks, I know I appreciate it when I get one, but it would probably best for her to lose her license. It's not like she's a dumb teenager that can become a better driver with some experience, sounds like she will only become worse.
Sorry to hear about your car, glad you didn't get hurt.
Too bad the ball joint didn't break when she hit you she could have paid for that too!

At least it was a square hit in the rear and not a glancing blow to the quarter panel......
I would have walked up to the Caravan holding the back of my neck.....
Can you say WHIPLASH........
I think Rick might have an extra SVT badge you can put on the blue trunk lid...... :D

Have to show us a pic.... :D . Changing out the A/C in the 89 this weekend, New Evap, heater core, dryer, hoses, condenser, compressor and decided to change out the old cracked dash for a real good one I bought awhile back. I can tell this is going to be a PITA.. 4 1/2 hours and I just got the old dash out. Going to be a great weekend.. :( :(

I can say this, If it happened all over again, I would call the 5.0 and get her a$$ off the road.
I got 3 estimates today. With new aftermarket parts the 3 estrimates are well over $2500 in damages for parts, paint and labor. The down side to this is there wont be the SC on the bumper.
WE cannot have that!
With me supplying my used deck lid and rear bumper the cost to the old bitty is only at most $1200 to strip, paint, install rear bumper facia, remove, strip, paint and replace deck lid, paint rear bumper(two-tone) and blend with rest of car. Now I am trying to get the body shop whom is going to do the work to agree to paint the rest of the car while it is there but, they don't do re-paints. Too busy with collision but they are the best in Lake County.

Hi Nick, I know how bad it feels!!! When I had finished Bretts car we got side swipped and got lucky at that it was the left front 4,400.00 to fix the car, with us using our own parts and everything. Right before we were going to have it paited the next day some one passed us on a double yellow lane. I was just knocked out from the shock of so many hours of work. I thought it was totalled. They wanted to total it and then I showed the engine and they said the car was only worth $2500.00. I have probably $12,000.00 in the car but since we have so many cars and other insurances with State Farm they staff Adjuster they sent to avoid totaling the car said the car was worth $2,600.00 because it was so clean. Florida has a new law and if they total your car and you accept the check they can take your car and not sell it back to you as I explained it to you the night this happened to you!
After talking with you tonight I beleive with all you are ordering you will have a nice very fast street car. Just take her to the track on special events and then just have fun on the streets when a Stang comes by and Vrooms at you... blow it's doors off. I will order all you want on Monday and just remember to use the special link for special pricing. Infact anyone that need anything you need to use our special link to get special pricing. Here it is... You will have one of the fastest SC's in Florida. With cam And some heads, I can get now will get you in the 11.99 but you will need a cam and good flowing heads. But then any place you race they will not let you raice again unless you have the roll cage hassness and they will inspect your car real good before you can run. I have a new real cool way of doing somethings I learned today from a Rep. that spent half a day here with us today. WOO HOOO!!!
Wait untill you guys here this. I'll tell ya all at the BBQ. We can Now have just about any heads you need done at very good prices and cams to springs Lifters etc. I need to talk to Jake and Fip.
