canadian sc owner 1989

i bought a 1989 sc about six month ago for 3500 canadian. its in good shape but recently the cars battery light goes on when the car get s hot its has been very warm here about 25 above,the car is black. when I drive the car for a bit in the heat the light goes on sometimes flickers or goes off then on . But the car startes and runs fine after it cools down it stays off untill it re heats. any help would be appreciated. oh ya ps what would this car be worth its in very good condition and has 220,000 km

It sounds as if your altenator might be on the way out. When it gets hot the bearings in the Alt are probably overheating and causing the Altenator to throw the light on. Before you change the altenator verify your battery cables look OK, and clean the connections on the battery.
