Oil Leak

Again I look to you guys for answers. My car is leaking oil where the tranny mounts up to the engine. Is it the rear main seal? If it is how big of a pain is that to do? Thanks, Art

It's probably the rear main seal. And, yes it's a pain. The engine's got to come out. Now, I don't know if you can do it by removing the tranny or not. If so, it might be easier than removing the engine. Maybe someone else can answer that question. Anyway, one of the two has to be done, R&R the engine or the tranny. Good luck and take care.

yea i would think its easier to take the tranny out and pull the flywheel , my rear main had a slight leak and lucas oil stabilizer fixed it , it leaked slightly for a few years now its dry
