Why does the power end at 4500 RPM???

I know these motors don't make power up top, but what is the holdup?

I've just kinda taken it as the gospel that ther aint no need to rev over 5K, but what is the major holdup?

Is it the blower making too much heat at higher RPM? Or is just the cam grind and flow???

MrBlvd's post got me to thinking about this, I've been meaning to ask for some time now....

IMO it's the blower, cam and heads (in that order).

Get the right combo it's still gaining power at 6000 rpms.

PS: I'm still working on finding the right combo

yeah itsa like david said , you gotta remember this car had to FEEL fast more than be fast to sell.

when the rich guy what bougth the car stepped on the gas he wanted to feel it was really fast.

meaning all the power had to be produced at low RPM,s and a lot of torque , as torque is what makes a car feel fast.
