It's old news, but I ran 13.54s @ 101 mph with all stock internals, heads, cam, throttle-body and 30 lb/hr injectors. This was with an S-model SC. I also blew both head gaskets and cracked a piston ring-land on that same run

I think there might be an AR running around with stock heads and cam. If so, that should be faster.

What was the rest of your trim on that? Interrior and such?

Chrisremoved passenger seat, spare tire and jack. Everything else is intact, as it is today....leather interior, moonroof, etc.

Engine/Drivetrain mods back then:
73 mm C&L MAF
S-Model
Spearco IC w/ fan (not a FMIC)
Raised Top
ASP under-drive pulleys
5% OD pulley
home-made CAI w/ 9" K&N
SCCoA shorty headers
hi-flow CATs
Big-Dog exhaust
3.73 gears
Lentech Street Terminator VB
Mickey Thompson 16 x 11.50 ET Streets

I think that's it. The list of mods isn't that impressive. I truely believe that my stock injector were the key....it's like the old saying "lean is mean". Sure it ran faster than it probably should have, but it also didn't last!

I trapped 102.23 mph with stock heads/cam. My car bogged real bad off the line, so I only ran a 13.6. This was last year, and it was easily capable of low 13s. I should be running high 12s this year (added more parts over the winter).

Yeah, I really wish all of the MP stuff was available way back then. Oh well, I like running mid-12's now.

With a little luck and some nice weather I hope to be running high-mid 13's at 2500 feet this friday. The heads and cam are stock, and have 263,000 Kms on them (164,000 miles for you Americans).

Kurt, Brandon, dyno sheets?

Kurt, Brandon, dyno sheets?

No dyno sheets here....I really need to get on the dyno for tuning purposes, but I won't waste my time for bragging rights. Dyno sheets mean nothing to me....I've seen too many cars make big numbers on the dyno, yet fail to perform at the track.

Kurt, Brandon, dyno sheets? No dyno sheets for me either. If I would have had dyno sheets from back them, I might have noticed how lean I was running on the big end. But I have to agree that the track numbers should speak for themself.

Hey Kurt, was that Piston you showed me of the HOLE Blown through it from the motor your talking about! .... Yep, fuel would have stopped it. But it may have also stopped that power! ... So You Go !

ALso, have to say, since day one my Whipple has had no problems. .. Little different than the AR, but not too much... Except size :o ... But you know what they say Size Doesn't Matter ;)

And it was pretty good dropping it in when it came to tuning. Didn't need much tweaking. .. 2 pulls and it was set. .. Of course I had to go for a 3rd pull through 64xx & the IC tube Blew Off!!! From inside the car, I thought "That was one pull I shouldn't have made!" .. THought the motor blew. .. But , tightened the tube & haven't had an issue yet. ... Rock On Fellas!

Still have stock bottom end and stock heads and cam (heads are at the machine shop right now). I have all MP stuff (waiting on MP3), Art Carr Extreme AOD, 3.73s, and the car is lightened a bit. Look on my member page to see what all I have done.

Everything is on my member page. Still full-weight: 4080 or 4180, with me in it (can't remember for sure). Essentially CMRE Stage II, with most of the goodies.

Actually, I think the piston I showed you didn't actually blow through, but it did have a nice concave depression that showed about 30 lbs less than all other cylinders during compressions tests. That piston was from my first rebuild.

The stock piston, mentioned earlier in this thread, had a couple of chunks missing from the side.

Cool thanks guys. I want to get the v-8 running and then move forward with the SC.

I believe I still hold the fastest stock heads/cam without nitrous 13.199 @ 103.30.
