I am looking for a good to excellent condition shifter for my 89 SC, preferebly with a good shifter knob. The bushings in mine are shot and the shifter is very loose. Or perhaps someone can point me in the direction of a good yet resonably priced aftermarket shifter. I just feel like if I dont replace the shifter in the near future I may cause unnecessary damage to my 316K mile tranny. Thanks

As far as aftermarket shifters, there's only one: The B&M Ripper. Your other option would be to rebuild your stock shifter. Do a search for shfiter rebuild and you'll come to teh parts list which you can get from ford. However, 'my' personal recomendatino woudl be to stick it out and buy a ripper shifter. If you rebuild ur stock one, eventually its gonna wear out again. The ripper has no internal parts that disintegrate like the stock shifter does. SO its a one time payment. Good luck!

I have a 5 speed shifter in excellent condition. $65.00 shipped to your door. I do not have a good shift knob though. e-mail or pm if interested.
