View Full Version : Black Carpet
I have a nearly perfect black carpet set, but the driver's side front has a melted area. I'd like to get a driver's side front section of black OEM carpet if anyone has one.
This would need to be cut front-to-back down the center of the tunnel, and side-to-side across the driver's seat rear mounting bolts. That'll leave me plenty of "flap" for fitting.
I'll trim up my original, and the "patch", and have the cut edges serged and overlap at installation. When installed, it shouldn't show except for a little strip between the seatbelt retractor and the seat base.
I'd rather not have to pay to ship an entire carpet set, but if someone has a super-nice used one, and doesn't want to cut it, I'd be interested in that also.
Send me detailed photos if you have something.
Thanks!

i bought all new carpet from here. Looks great. Easy install. and at a very good price. I bought the heat shield insulation. helped alot to keep the heat from our hot running cars for getting inside. Tell you this is the way to go :)

Thanks for the heads-up. I've ordered a sample from them to compare to my OEM carpet. I'd still like a cut section from an original carpet, but if their stuff is identical, I'll probably go with them.
In the meantime, if anyone has a good stock carpet section, let me know.
Thanks,
JD

I found a super-nice black carpet from a 90 Cougar LS today in a salvage yard. What are the odds? It cleaned up like new. Cost?: $20. Me Likeee
