what temp sensor is this?

As I was further trying to troubleshoot an issue with the low speed fan not turing on I noticed another temp sensor. It is located in the coolant line that runs underneath the intake and the sensor sits right underneath the throtle body. The connector is just a single post plug like the one for the temp sending unit that goes to the gauge. I tried to find a reference to this sensor in the chiltons and haynes mauals but had no luck. So my question is what system is it used for, and could it be a suspect with causing my low speed fan to not work properly?

hmmm

well i thought it might be related to climate control. Any idea if it could affect fan control?

It shouldn't affect the engine cooling fan because the wire from the sensor runs directly to the automatic climate control. On cars without automatic climate control, the wire doesn't connect to anything.
