I thought I'd seen this before, but my searches turned up nothing useful, so here we go. Every so often, when I start the car, the ignition ends up in a halfway point where a number of the "key on" functions are not energized. Like the brakes. It also happens that the Fluid Level display above the radio doesn't work then either.
Is this a harbinger of the ignition switch failing? Is it easy to replace, or am I looking at serious cash? Is it easier to tie into the stock wiring and to put two switches into the circuit to take the place of the original ignition? Just curious.
