wheel offset q's

hi,

I am looking at a set of 18x8.5 rims. I am asking for advice on weather to get +30mm or +40mm offset. Doing a search it seems most prefer +35mm to +38mm but If I go with these rims I am going to have to go with the 30 or 40. Also should I worry about backspacing or is backspacing directly related to offset (as in if you have the right offset you have the right backspacing)?

Thanks
Wade

Wade, if +30 and +40 are the only choices with the wheels you're looking at, go with +40. They may be a bit tight on the front, but a small spacer would fix that. +30 would put the wheel & tire package too close to the outside edge of the fenders IMO. It's a lot easier to move the wheels out than in. ;)

cheers
