It can.... not cheap, but at least the parts are now available so that you don't have to fab anything major.
You need:
LS1 T-56 (98-02)
Mcleod Modular Bellhousing (# 8750-06, Summit has em, this does have a pilot bearing)
Mcleod Hydraulic Throwout Bearing (#1400-22)
You'll need to have a clutch line made to mate the throwout bearing and stock master cylinder, and you'll have to have the driveshaft modded to fit (both in length and the front yoke to fit the T-56).
The LS1 T-56 should get the shifter roughly 1"-1.5" forward from where the stock one sits. You may have to do a little cutting to get the shifter to fit right.
For the clutch, you need an 11" disk to fit the trans (Mcleod actually has one for a 98-02 Camaro) and an 11" pressure plate for the SC.
