Here's a dumb paint question; Since i know absolutely nothing about paint, i was wondering if there was a way to correct a slight difference in color on certain body panels?

My SC is crimson red, and it looks to have factory clearcoat on the original parts except for the part listed below;

My entire hood, front bumper, driver's side front quarter panel, and driver's side door appears to have been recently re-painted, but it is slightly off color (a brighter red, no clearcoat)- almost not noticeable, but enough to be annoying to me. The rest of the car is original paint.

Is there a way to fix this without going the super expensive route of having the entire car re-painted? Is there some type of treatment that can ever so slightly darken the paint- maybe just add a few clearcoats to it?

any paint experts or anyone's opinion please-

thanks-

Matching and blending paint is always an extremely tough procedure. It's easier with base/clear paintjobs than it is with single stage paint jobs though, in my opinion. I've thought about this for awhile and considered all of my tricks, but I can't think of any quick/easy way to fix your problem. Most of the time when I encounter a problem like this I just repaint.

Red is the hardest color to match, so it may take a few tries to get something close.

In my opinion and experience, white is the hardest color to match.

thanks guys. i think i will just let it go. it's a little tacky, and annoying, but i can live with it. it's really not all that noticeable, but it's just enough to make me think i have a raggedy looking sc. money always gets in the way- i can't even have a cheap car that looks good. :(
oh well.. considering what's going on in the world today, we still have it good for now.
