Hey guys, many of you who have indicated that you are planning to attend the SC Shootout have NOT registered yet. Please, there is no reason to delay any longer. Get registered!

Even if you are only spectating, please register, we have spectator registration as well! This is very important because if you don't register ahead of time then 1) you'll have to pay for your T-shirts, and 2) you'll have to buy your own food on Saturday, and 3) registering in advance will increase the amount of sponsorship money the event receives.

Trust me, you'll save money and you'll help out the event by registering in advance.

Check the Shootout info post for any questions. :)

I keep hearing people say they aren't going because the car won't be ready, up to snuff, spiffy enough, or whatever. Guys, showing -racing your car is just not the only thing that the Shoot Out is all about.

It's also about everyone getting together for a monster time to look, listen, learn, put a face to a name, and just have a grand ol' time! Hell, I could probably have the car ready to go, but I can't get off enough time to make the drive. I can however, get enough time off to jump on a plane and spend the weekend supporting everyone here who helps me throughout the year, and the club in general.

I urge everyone who can get there to do so. Who cares what you're driving. Hell, I may have to pull up in a rented mopar. You may be the only person in the room who can answer a question for someone because you just finished replacing that part on your car!!

Come anyway. Support the group. Meet your fellow car owners. Tell stories. Swap lies, and bring the car next year. He$$, win a raffle and take home that one of a kind part you never though you could afford but decided you can't live without!
================================================== =================================================

(disclaimer) -this commercial message brought to youse by the "Committee to Bust Your Chops - New Yawk Chapter" if youse don't show up for another 365 days, or until the next Shoot Out, whichever comes first. This is a not-for-profit enterprise whose sole purpose in life is to give every SC owner a hard time if they don't show up, buy a tees shirt, a round of drinks, and and give the Official SCCoA Shoot Committee a hard time about something!

I would be there without my car if that was the case. I couldn't imaging missing out on all the drinking and funny $#@! happening.
Oh yea...There will be fast cars there too.

Be there or be square !

The cars are cool and all, but it's really about all the people you get to meet and hang out with in the parking lot all night.

I've been to two Kansas City meets and then the first SC Shootout in St. Louis and had a blast at all 3. It was great meeting people and seeing old friends. Dave has it right - it's all about the people whether it's seeing old friends or making new friends.

I won't have my 'Bird at all, but I'm coming :D

I am not smart enough to get my sc to idle.
Been tring for two years now.So I don't think
I will get it in the next two weeks either.
So looks like I will not make it.Just simply
cannot get the TPS set right.Going to try a
different throttle body housing, and see if
that works. If that does not work I give up.

Yes, everyone....get to the shootout, car or not!
Make arangments to ride with somebody else if you can't bring your car.
Its about hang'n with everyone you talk to on the boards all year, drinkn beer, & staying up all night talk'n cars.
See what others have done, get ideas...etc...
I've heard people say they have had a great experience without having thier car at a meet, since they don't have to worry about it.
Newbies this is your chance to see what bonds us together, gett'n to know the guys.

Ok...not sure what happened here. I DID send you a PM AND the payment document that I just read was not the one that popped up on the computer last time. I SWEAR there is something fishy...Anyway, do you need the money for the raffle encluded in this or do you pay the night of the raffle?

Guys, When I saved the forms to my computer I had to save them one by one. I wasn't able to save "all" at once. After you save them one by one. You should be able to go fill them out and save them filled out and then send them to Dave.

For those who are on the bubble about going, all you need to do is talk to anyone who went last year. A good time was had by all! This is a oppurtunity to baseline your car on the dyno and track, and see what people have done thier cars. See a couldn't be done turbo SC, a few AR powered cars, mod-1, mod-2, pro-street, and stock cars. If you are thinking about modifying your car or it "just is not running quite right" this is great time to meet some of the "know how to guys" for these cars. People are bringing thier wives, girlfriends, kids, etc. and really is a family orientated event, just as long you are off the hotel parking lot by 10:00 pm. This is a must attend event that should not be missed if you own a Super Coupe.
So come on, get registered, and start packing!

I figured it out...except the part if I send the extra money for the raffle or if I pay there. Im sure my being up for 30 hours plus had something to do with that.

Super X, there is a TT SC?

Another shameless plug. :D :p

Registrations are now up to 28 total. Class breakdown is as follows:

V8 - 3......David Neibert and the Aden brothers represent'n, with Chris Lazzo expected to join the fun.

Pro Street - 5......Big dogs Kevin Leitem and Todd Jelle the best known SC's in this class with both cars being capable of mid 11's. Kevin with an MPIII and Todd with an AR both cars have proven they are serious contenders. John Shelton brings his lethal but unproven CMSII-R from the west coast to give the SC Shootout a taste of Cali-style hospitality. There will undoubtedly be some surpises in this class and we have a couple of people pushing the Mod 2 envelope to the limit so there may be more than 5 when it is all said and done.

Mod 2 - 5.......Tony Serno and Kurt Kreisz are regulars in this class, both of which have run 12.60's on a 12.49 breakout so expect this to be a tough class. Dan Sly has run fast enough to bump up to Pro Street, but will he be able to do it at the Shootout? We'll have to see. :)

Mod 1 - 8.......A hot class with an number of unknown contingencies. "Shifty McShift" will finally have a class to run in and will have the chance to prove once and for all to Ken Seegers that 5spd do in fact rule the track. Dave Ward, winner of last year's Randy Baker Performance Tech modified manifold, will be in this class along with hot shoe Mark Petillo in the XR7 Dave-mobile.

Street Stock - 8.......Stock class is always fun and seems to draw the best crowds of competitors. The favorite in this class is the Randy Baker special with a variety of trick parts and crafty innovation backed up with a host of MP products. With lightweight Connie behind the wheel all you boys better watch out for this one. Other contenders are filtering in from as far away as Alberta, Canada with 13 second time slips. Expect this class to be at least as fast as Mod 1 but with all stock engine internals. From the looks of it "Fat Pig SWB 003" is going to get a whooping in this class. With a stock IC and lowly S-port blower I don't think my tank-butt has a whisper's chance against the likes of Ed Nicholson and Charles Brown. Man, if only I could run my slicks. :(

Well that is your update for today. 28 competitors from around the continent and don't miss your chance to meet Charles Warner, inventer of the MPIII that we will be giving away to one lucky SC owner. Rumour has it he has already bought his plane ticket. :D Let the party begin!

So far...

V8 - 4
PS - 4
M2 - 7
M1 - 7
SS - 10

Total - 32

We have a couple of other hopefuls as well. I hear tell of a supercharged V8 from OK that will come to play, and rumours of a couple more random V6's.

Hopefully some locals will step up to the plate. As it stands now we have only one competitor from the host state. :o

So far we are only $900 short of budget.
