shift kit

Do yourself a favor and just start with a later model mustang tranny. That 94 case and valvebody are crap

In that case, the cost will be much more than a simple valve body modification .. when you blow your tranny it would be a good idea to use the late model mustang trans. You may want to still read the article if you do decide to go with the late model trans for information about the electronics, and re-wiring the harness.

Hang on a minute the guy wants a shift kit not a new trans. If you read through the Jerry article on the TCCOA site you'll get a lot of helpful data on these early model 4Rw70 trans (94-95). In 96 they made several improvements which you can easily upgrade to, including the valve body. If you intend to keep the car and mileage is currently not to high it'll be worth making those 96 improvements (like accumulator pistons, MLPS, solenoids, larger sump & filter, etc). I did these at about 25,000m in my 94 + added a Trango shift kit. That is 100,000 miles ago and it's been a gem ever since.
