whats the reason for our cars having insane amounts of torque stock???

My guess would be the Supercharger :D

No, seriously - as far as I know, it's because the blower is the roots style/belt driven. So it's right there when you step on it.

Positive displacement supercharger. For every revolution of the crankshaft a fixed amount of air is forced into the engine and this pressure is available nearly immediately. Peak torque is built at around 2800rpm. That's slightly higher RPM peak than most diesel motors but well below most NA cars, as well as those with vortec superchargers.

Over head valve engines, they seem to make more Torque when forced inducted then ohc engines. Dont really know the physics but they do.

an normal unboosted engene uses a lot of power drawing more air into the cylinders where under boost its blowing air in helping to push the piston down before it even comes up on the compression stroke so a lot of this shows up in torque numbers more than horsepower numbers

The facts behind more torque are: positive displacement, like Mikelotsofnumbers said above, and, as rlong noted, more air, and with with more air being pushed into the cylinders, more gas can be added, therefore a bigger bang in the same space, hence the need for premium gas. ( The only replacement for displacement is boost.) The reason for more torque is because it's more fun.
