We could do a draft, a simple pick X amount of players, or the box style pick 1 name from a box 5 names, with about 20 boxes.

Any sor to interest? I know we have some hockey experts around here...... ;)

We could hold this next wed night, if we need to be in person for the draft style.

Thoughts, ideas........

The "thingy" is a jibber jobber. Don't you know nothing?

A pool would be cool , but what about those of us in the remote regions who can't attend a mid week meeting?

"Hey dear, I'm going to drop $130 in fuel and a night in a hotel to drop $10 in a pool where I could win back $150. See ya Thursday, OK?"

TWANG!! as the fry pan rebounds off your pumpkin....

Perhaps a weekend (Saturday evening/night) meet before the snow flies? We could do a draft even if the season has a few games done.....

I would think that would be fine, if we held it on the following sat(Oct 8th)[wait, that date maybe taken for the back up to this weekends track day]. What about holding the draft using a CHAT room? No need to use ANY gas for that.

I'm in favour of the draft style pool. Get all the names of people drafting, and then pull them out of a hat. The way they names come is the order for the draft. Draft 12 players, 8 forwards and 4 defenceman, then maybe 1 goalie(if we choose to have them)

Points would set up same as NHL rules, total points for the player at the end of the year. The new SHOOT-OUT goals WOULD NOT COUNT, as they don't in player stats. If we did pick goalies, then 2 points for a win, and 5 for a shut-out.

I was hoping for 10-12 guys for this, but that may not happen. Prize money would be figured out when we know how many guys are in. Also entry fee would be 10-20 bucks, again depending on how many we can get for this.

Thoughts.....

I'm in
there are some good on line pools such as Yahoo where you can do an auto draft so you pic the players you want like 40 or so in the order of 1 to 40 then as the draft is done it pics the player you want.
I will take some time to look in to this.

Recent Court Rulling

A seven year old boy from Toronto was at the centre of a courtroom drama in an Ontario Superior Courthouse this morning when he challenged a court ruling over who should have legal custody of the juvenile.

The boy has a history of being beaten repeatedly by both parents and the judge had previously awarded custody to the boy's aunt.

The boy confirmed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and refused to live there. When the judge then suggested that he be placed with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they beat him more severely than anyone.

The judge, in an unprecedented ruling, dramatically allowed the boy, in spite of his youth and obvious inexperience, to make his own choice as to who should have legal guardianship over him.

In front of a packed and cheering courtroom this morning, custody was subsequently granted to the Toronto Maple Leafs as the boy stated his firm belief that they are, in point of fact, not capable of beating anyone!!

Funny Tom, you still on for our bet?(What do you say to a set of bumper letters?) I wonder if you're FLASH IN THE PAN goalie can do it agian this year?

Jason, I'm not really a fan of that set up. Feels too muck like a video game.

With Andrew heading down to the shoot-out, that would leave Steve, and myself. Bruce is too far away to make a week night, and Jason, you said you'd be in, but with the on-line set up.

I think the Hockey pool is a dead issue at this point.
