This car was for sale here last year for $14,000. No one would go that high, I talked to original owner with a bid of $12,500. I guess the new owner wants a small profit for his expenses.

 Man, didn't realize 35ths were that expensive when new. That's more than the sticker for my 94 5-speed. However, I didn't have the cd player nor a sun/moon roof or keyless entry or cell phone option

If the original owner is selling it..How could that be? Maybe he sold it to himself?..Regardless
When people are selling their cars they can ask whatever they want for them. If you feel they are off mark EMail them..PM them and tell them. Otherwise when it comes to asking price we should all keep our mouths shut.

Thanks for your advice, I was just stating a fact. And if you read it again, it was bought new by a dealer, not the crew selling it now. I am not saying anything about the price, except it is now twice what it was last year. Maybe I am a friend of other SC lovers who don't need to get ripped off. Again thanks for you kind words of advice.

It's the age-old adage, a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. But, I can tell you this much...if I had the $26k for that car, I would take it in a heartbeat. Maybe I can hit the lottery....is there a bank I can knock off real quick???? ;) ;)
One thing though, the car IS misrepresented in the ad. It says 75 miles and and there's only 70!!!! How dare they misrepresent that car like that!!!! :D :D :D
DAMN!!!! That car is gorgeous!!!!!
[QUOTE=jsnook]WOW! Showroom fresh! Brand new! Only 75 careful miles. 5 Speed...
Who ever buys this is going to have to keep it in it's current condition, and not drive it at all to preserve the value. If that's done, it might be worth $32K in 20-30 years. That's a long time to wait to break even. These cars aren't going to be worth that kind of change for a long, long time (if ever).
But, I wish him the best, because it'll drive up the value on the rest of the original, well preserved examples. This'll make the three I have worth more, so bid up, guys!!

Bump for a very nice car. Someday my 35th will look that good. Must be hard to preserve a car like that, I know I couldnt do it. It hasnt even seen one full tank worth of gas probably.

 ~"I wonder if they keep the tank FULL?? THAT would mean that 16 of the 19 gallons is a little over FIFTEEN YEARS OLD!!! Geeze ... that's gotta be WATER and varnish by now!!"
 ~"Or, mebbe they keep the tank EMPTY, and just put in a gallon at a time - JUST enough to get it to Church and back!"

This is not a car anymore; it's a paperweight. You can't think of it in terms of a vehicle. It's a static display; like the airplanes-on-a-stick in front of the Air Force bases. It could be driven again, but that very act would destroy the intrinsic low-mileage value of this "car".
It's a super-nice piece, though. I hope it's preserved for display for a long time into the future. However, it's going to take someone with big dollars to invest in this car, and be willing to sit on it long-term to realize a break-even.

I'd sell my 35th automatic with only 42,300 miles with the original floor mats still in plastic for half that price of $32K.

you would prob only get 7,000 max, so make it 1/4 the price.

If I had tons of disposable income, I would buy that car and drive the hell out of it. What good is a car if you never get to enjoy driving it. The whole "investment" thing makes me laugh - I love my SC, have big plans for it, and think it's one of the best cars FORD ever built, but in no way is it an investment. Investments are supposed to have monetary returns! Mine, and everyone else's that I know, just sucks up my monetaries. :D

I'd have to drive the piss out of that if I paid 32K for it, it's nice but it's meant to be driven.

Beautiful car. However $32,000. I know it's a buyers market so someone out there may just be willing to part with their cash. Back on planet earth Kelly Blue Book value says around $3,000 tops. I hate to inform you your car is not yet considered antique classic. If it was you might be able to fetch that much or more. Check dealsonwheels.com for clearer picture of the types of older vehicles that tend to pull in the kind of money your asking. In fact I saw a mint GTO Judge going for like $400,000. Can you believe it? Nevertheless as a fellow SC enthusiast I wish you all the luck in getting your asking price. Please keep us SCCOA members updated as to how sale goes for you. :)

Why not save up another 8k and buy a Shelby GT500 in a few months? 450hp and warranty.
It's a great car don't get me wrong, but Thunderbirds haven't been Fords flag ships since around 1957.
GL with the sale, but as you probably already know it's not going anywhere on here.
