View Full Version : Temp gauge moving with increasing RPM

is this the sign of a bubble in the cooling system? I did everthing I could to bleed it, but the stock temp gauge slams Cold when I am gearing it off and returns to the "O" in NORM.

Any inputs?

Thanks,

Stephen

You can unplug the wire at the sender/sensor and instead connect an ohmmeter between the sender's terminal and ground. If the resistance stays constant when the rpms change, then, as 93SC said, you have a loose connection between the sender and the temp gauge or inside the instrument cluster, or possibly a bad gauge.

Also could be a bad engine ground. The sender gets it's ground from the engine, which in turn gets it's ground from the chassis. If the engine isn't properly grounded then you'll get a funky reading.
