Hi,

Well I noticed today that as i was passing 3,000 RPMS my oil pressure began to drop off.... i was kinda racing a mustang when i noticed the CHECK GAUGE light turn on and the oil pressure dropping... and i was thinking it was low oil but i checked it and seems fine.... any-who what can be causing this... the oil pressure switch... if so when is it located...

It is under the alternator, sort of. It is tight, but you can usually get from the top. Make sure the wire is tight first.
Should be able to get one from pep, autozone, etc.
Take a look

Mine did the same thing because the push on wire connection at the sender was loose. Pull the wire off, squeeze connector lightly with pliers and reinstall.

Can an aftermarket gauge be tapped onto that sender?

yes.. as long as you are using an electric guage that has the sending unit..it will read off the stock sending unit.

But why not just switch out to a mechanical? Much more accurate

uh, I guess cause I didn't even think of that. I was thinking more of the ease of running a wire and that was it.
Have you set up a mechanical gauge?
