I've only done it once before, but all you need is a flat-head screwdriver. Stick the screwdriver into the joint and pry it as you pull of the cable. To put it back, simply snap the cable back into the little ball joint. I know it's not clear, but if you can't figure it out, I can post a pic. Let me know.
