I wanted to write this in part for all of you here at SCCoA but also for the guys over at Operation Wheels Of Freedom (OWOF) as they will be coming over to the site and reading and viewing there videos.

First and foremost if you don’t know what I am talking about please see the original thread http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69152

Now on with the show:

I would like to thank all the guys over at OWOF for doing this for us, it was by far the best thing that has ever happened in my military carrier. I loved every second of it!!! I was like a kid in a candy store. The only things I didn’t get to drive was the Viper. I was told that it was only for higher ranking officers, which kinda doesn’t make sense because they are the ones that can actually afford to buy one, or at least test drive one, where as we enlisted guys cannot, but I understand you can’t let everyone drive it. Second was the CTS-V which I have to say was UNFREAKINGREAL!!!!!!!!!!! After I rode with one of the professional drivers(You will see the video) whos name has slipped my mind I was totally shocked by the car, and the driving. And third was the Mustang with headers and no resonator which was also a 5 speed, and kinda fast. The main thing I noticed here was how many people had no idea how to drive at all, and then how I knew little compared to these pro drivers.

Now what I did drive was first and the best.
The SRT-10, you wanna talk about TQ, and HP, there ya go. It was unreal, the pro driver in the passenger seat was so cool, he just said to have fun, so I pulled up to the start line, and ohh I dunno launched at 3500RPMS, spinning my way through 1st , and just dumping it into second before I had to slow down for the turn. The truck handled very well for being a truck, and it would get up and go on my foots command. Overall my Favorite of all the cars.

Second I drove the SSR with Mr. Kim Crumb in my passenger seat. He told me to slow down and drive correctly. Needless to say he taught me a thing or 2 about driving speed fast and driving time fast. I was surprised with the SSR’s power and handling, and the nice rumbly exhaust. Over all id say it was my 2nd favorite to drive.

Third I drove the Black Stock Mustang With the young Unser Kid in the passenger seat(Robbie I think), and to be really honest, it left lots to be desired, I lost a lot of respect for that car that day. Handling was about is good as it is in the SC, and power was a hair better, but didn’t trip my Butt Dyno meter.

Fourth I drove the Magnum. My 3rd favorite of the day. For a station wagon this thing hauled balls and handled perfect. I was shocked with all that weight swinging around and transferring that the damn thing went where you told it to, and without fighting you. Power was great, what can ya say it was a Hemi.

Fifth I drove the GTO, No this would have been my #2 if I only knew how to drive like John Morton (more on him later). There is so much wheel turning involved, and while your trying to brake, and stomp on the gas and look out your window all at the same time, my brain just couldn’t do it. I love the car, I loved the power, I loved the handling, I just wish I knew how to drive it better. It handled for me very good. But after John took me for a ride, I was speechless.

I drove many of these cars more than once, and rode with almost all the pros there. But rode with John Morton the most. He is my HERO!!!!!!

So now onto the passenger part of the whole event. When I turned into the passenger and let the pros show me what it means to drive a car.
I drove with lots of Pro Drivers that day who were all great, sorry that I can’t remember all your names, but there are a few that stick out. And hopefully some of you will know who you are by watching the videos I recorded while riding in the car while you drove.

I rode with the young Unser in the Mustang GT with headers, it was very fun, he’s a good driver. I asked him if he could outdrive John Morton, he almost got close to John, but John probably has the age/experience factor going, and young Unser just couldn’t do it. Can’t remember the rest of the drivers names except John Morton my hero.

I first drive with John in the GTO and WOW, the man can drive ohh and while driving was telling me how to drive, giving me pointers telling me what he was doing and why, he was speaking to me so relaxed like we were at the bar talking eating peanuts and drinking a beer. UNREAL I was gripping the door handle enough to make my hand white, the only way I can describe it is MAN THAT MAN CAN DRIVE!!!!!! I then rode with John in the Mustang GT with headers(video below) and he again wowed me with his balls to the wall, turn on a dime, get in and out of every corner perfectly driving style.
I talked with John for awhile in the car after he was done showing off :D and asked for driving lessons, to bad he lives in CA  I really wanted to learn how to drive from him. Maybe someday though………..

I also want to add a personal note in there about Kim Crumb. The man took his time to contact me, he found the original thread while browsing the internet, and stumbled onto our little section of it. He told me to find him there and meet him. I did and he was a great guy, can’t wait to see you all again. And hey Kim where’s that photo of me and you with the top down in the SSR?

Now on to the videos: Sorry for all the shaking of the camera its kinda hard while these guys are driving there hearts out.

That's sweet man. Looks like you had a blast. Would be truely awesome to get a ride like that in the Viper on a course big enough to open it up and really get er movin. On that course it looked like it wasn't even usin' up 1st gear.
