It started about 2 years ago and had gotten progressively worse to the point that it seldom worked at all. I'd tried 3 different tachs, went over all the connections on the back plane and even jumpered the tach signal from another spot, replaced the cam sensor as well but nothing worked. A couple days ago I finally replaced the DIS module with my spare and 'TaDa', the tach's worked ever since. I'd discounted it as the problem because I never had any trouble with the ignition; it never skipped a beat. The DIS still works, just no tach signal output for the tachometer. I guess it'll make a good emergency spare.
