DIN Filler

I replaced the old and dead JBL stereo with Pioneer aftermarket that had integrated CD player. I removed the OEM CD unit, and have a gap in the center console where it used to reside.

I remember Ford had a "storage box" for Tbirds and Mustangs from the late 80s and early 90s that filled the DIN spot, but new parts guys at Ford couldn't find one. I even ordered online, but parts are discontinued.

Any suggestions before I go trudgin' around the junkyard for old parts?

although i have seen the storage compartment if you want to call it that. i would rather get the coin/cup holder but either works better than the hole down there like i have
