im thinking about buying a repair manual for my 1989 SC but what book is better ?
Haynes or chilton's ? :o

Both.

I found that Chiltons goes more in depth in to the vehicle, but, Hanyes is a nice addition to it.

Buy both. And then buy the Helms (factory) service manual. With all of the manuals, you are bound to have all the right information.

I have the haynes but rarely use it. I'm so used to working on this car I could write my own manual for it.

I like the Haynes since it has pictures, but they make everything sound so easy. There's a few times I've said "why don't you come show me how this is done" while throwing the book across the garage.
