I looked at the previous posts but noted that no one brought up the point of differnt accumulataor types. i just recieved a new one from prior and it does not have the hex bolt on top. just a large welded on nut around the threds. there is no room in the engine compartment for this to work. did i get the right one? its threds on but i can't get a wrench in there to tighten it up. any ideas? mabey im not seeing something.

There used to be two listings for the Ford accumulator and the difference was in the length of the threaded nipple. There was a short one and longer one. I believe Prior only sells the shorter one, so you should be OK. The unit seals by o-ring, so a strap wrench should let you tighten it up enough. Some oil filter wrenches may work, but as you have noticed, things are tight in that area.

how tigt does the new ball need to be? i got it on and put the strap on it and tightened it as far as i could get it about a 1/4 turn is that going to be enough?

Hand tight...

Just like an oil filter. You don't need to crank down on it. I think the spec is around 7 to 8 ft/lbs, but if you have it as tight as you can get it by hand, you're good to go.....

funny thing. i thought that the new ball would cure the pulling problem i had but it only made it less notisable. under normal braking i can brake as fast as i want to with no problem but if i jump on the brakes fast it pulles to the left..... i don't get it. any ideas?

ok leme give yall some more info. before i changed out the ball i changed the pads and my rotors were fine, as far as i could tell. but wouldn't bad rotors cause a pulsating not a pull correct?
