Question about supercharging my N/A Regal GS... bypass solenoid issues

I have a N/A Regal GS 3.8, and yesterday at work we had a customer with a 94 olds 88 3.8SC that had a SC bearing noise, he wanted us to swap chargers for him... so i installed his used charger. He let us keep the old one, and i can get a nose cone for it reasonably cheap, and i would like to put it on my regal. I can get the intake manifold from a local yard, the only problem i foresee is wiring the bypass solenoid... it is usally open, PCM toggles it. It turns off when Reverse is selected, or during rapid deceleration.

My question is this... if i run charger with solenoid always open, constant boost, regardless of situation, will the manifold pressure in low boost situations wreck it?

No, I don't think so. I think it will just put some more wear on the SC and create a little more noise. (Because the SC will be working all the time instead of "idling" under cruise conditions.)

Gurus, correct me if I am wrong (I probably don't even need to say that, lol).

Why not snag a used PCM at the yard?
