We definitely need to crank this one up. When SCCoSW sort of split off with the title, things sort of ground to a halt around here. They're good guys and all, but I'd like to keep an identity associated with SCCOA myself.

You are more than welcome to join us.

I'm currently waiting for those interested in being a part of this club to answer here, that way I will have a good handle of whos in the club! Since this is the first SC club for this area, that I know of!!! Most of our members are in Texas and Louisiana. Hopefully more will want to join us from other gulf states!!

Thanks,
Calvin

I just wanted to start out by saying that we here in Alabama are technically already part of the Southeast Chapter. Didnt know if you guys knew that or not but if you still want to include us I guess I have no problem with that. We even have a few "members" in Mississippi but none of us have ever seen them. Maybe they think its too far to drive to our meets but then again some people never come anyway. I dont think there would be any problem with turning over Mississippi to you guys, might be better anyway. If you'd like to get their info, contact Mike Puckett. He lives in the Atlanta area and is the unofficial coordinator for our bunch.
By the way guys, although it may be a bit far away I would like to extend an invitation to our meet in Chattanooga TN on Aug 10th and 11th. As you can see this will be a 2 day thing, and we have been planning numerous activities. Guaranteed to be a great time. Check our board for the latest info.

Draw a circle with a 500 mile radius.. to me thats a practical range.. Close enough to make a trip to a meet within a day's drive.. Far enough to include a lot of owners. So, if your circle overlaps 2 or more chapters.. go for it.

I was planning on the national meet, but backed out when I tallied up the time and the fact that it would be me driving the whole way. That was right at 1000 miles.. 18hours (22 with a break long enough to catch some rest) of driving. I'd drive maybe up to 12 to attend an SCCOA event.

Sure did want to show up in Choochoo, girlfriend has to work that weekend though. 700+- ain't a bad little run, here in Texas we gotta go 100 miles to do anything, 300 miles to have fun. Hope your deal turns out well, sure did want to see the sights up there, been about 10-12 years since I been up there.

Have fun & take LOTS of pics of the meet!

Hi gents, Calvin, Wynn.... nice pic of your car Calvin, looks even prettier than the spring meet in Houston. I'll join if you'll take a backslider who hasn't been messin' with the SC's lately. Been Mr. Home Improvement all summer and aint done yet (God help me!)...
I found out I'm gonna be a dad for the third time a little after our last meet (I swear I'm the victim in this!) so the cars are just lucky to stay running. I guess we're just bound and determined to fill every seat in our Suburban. I say thats it though...a t-bird can only haul 5....

Let me know if there are any SC meets in the Florida area; would ike to attend and meet some other owners. Really like my car so far, bot from original owner who treated it better than a new baby, very good condition, but 120k miles, I need to breath some new life in the engine in the next year or so.

I have a friend restoring a 428 '66. I hauled it for him from Denver to TX. It was running and draivable. He has the car completly in pieces now. Engine tore down. Body on the side in a jig he built to scrape and undercoat. Has a 60 he is restoring. He bought box fulls of 64-66 parts from a guy who striped several and crushed the bodies. His whole house is litteraly filled with parts. Anyway your car looks good and I miss the V-8. I am putting a big block MoPar in a 91 though. Oh my friend is planning on using a T-Bird SC rear independent suspension he bought in one of them.

I believe there are a few SC'ers up in the Dallas area, as I really don't think there are many from Amarillo. A few of us live down around the Gulf, from SA to New Orleans. There aren't a bunch of SC's in the southern states, compared to the NorthEast or MidWest. So as you can see we are kinda stretched out, but we have managed to have a small meet in the Houston area from time to time.

I believe the next meet will be here in New Orleans around Mardi Gras time frame, Feb 2004. Will have more details once we get closer to Feb.

Welcome~

Howdy from B/CS

Bought my SC a couple years ago, shes been a daily driver for me and not too shabby, although shes nowhere near the beauty of some of the pics i've seen. Got a dent in the LR above the taillight and the rear corner lights have been replace with non-sc parts. :(

I almost feel bad that I cant restore mine to the levels I would like to, but If it is ever possible I would like to meet up with others and trade war stories over repairs.

I saw that someone else from good ol college station was posting here and I have seen another white SC in town that looks just like mine (only his looks in better shape :P )

Shoot me a message or email if anything is goin on.

Look up posts done by RussellR. His son drives a 95 Black M3 BMW at A&M, but Russell drives a red SC down for the Auto Cross and Drivers edge and other events at an A&M club and at Texas World Speedway. He posted a schedule of events down there and what he intends to go to somewhere in the forum. Or email him.

Also 3 times a year the fordbastards club over on Yahoo groups is a Texas Ford owners club of cars they stoped producing. They have driving events that draw a lot of cars and they are just good people. We had a blast last time at MSR.

The SC is an excelent cornering car against other stockers of lower weight. Just keep her running.

Howdy onEdge24,

Glad to see another SC'er from the B/CS area posting. I own a white 90 but I doubt it was mine you've seen since it has only visited A&M on one or two occasions. I don't take her up there right now, CS drivers honestly scare me. You get such a variety of drivers there that its too volatile for my blood. Mine stays in Houston. I have seen and met several other SC owners though in B/CS. Wanted badly to buy the champange colored one that was on sale on Welborn near the thrift shop but I never stopped to take a closer look at it and lack the money right now.

Will be returning to BCS around the 14th for the semester and will most likely leave my sc at home in Houston. Wouldn't mind meeting up and trading some 'war stories' regarding repairs/problems. My problems keep appearing as soon as I knock a few others out.

Hey, i'll join. Just joined the Southeast Club, but Hot-lanta and C'nooga is too far away. I need some help with my car, so it would be nice having a local bunch to talk with. I've had my car about a month, a gift from my dad (his old car). It needs some work-transmission, exhaust, window gears, sunroof motor, a lubing of everything. Do you all know a trusted Tranny place around the Jackson area to take my ride to? I have a leak, somewhere close to the left front wheel (transmission), and when I drive it around the block and gas it, it is almost as if something is dragging or sliping --- between hitting the gas and accelerating. I can't tell, I am definitely a rookie when it comes to automobile mechanical issues. I'm trying to learn though. Any thoughts? Thanks for assembling the Gulf Coast Chapter.
