Fuel Pump Upgrade

I'm sure this has been asked before. I searched and found lots of info regaurding the stock fuel pump for the SCs but nothing more related to my question.

My SC is an 89. From my understanding the stock fuel pump is 108lph. Since the stock Injectors are 30lbs, wouldn't the engine have a benefit by simply upgrading to a higher flowing fuel pump? A friend of mine has a 87 TC and simply upgraded the fuel pump and saw a difference at the track. Granted the stock pump for the TC's were about 90lph and they had 30lbs (or close to it) injectors.

Once again sorry for the n00b question.

It's a good idea anyway to upgrade your fuel pump especially if it's an original one. It's pretty old now and original fuel pump is not so "big".

Upgrade it to 190lph or maybe 255lph version and you don't have to ever think the fuel pump again.

The original pump can also be restricted in higher rpm's.

190 lph pump costs about $100, 255 lph version a little more.

Remember to change the fuel filter also!
