Just got back from the hospital tonight and I noticed Adam's post a few threads back about his unfortunate mishap when I fired up the computer. Sorry to hear about it and jeez, you know, the holiday season just isn't the time of year when these things should be happening. Ironically, me and my girlfriend were in my SC and we were following a couple of her friends into the city when all of a sudden one of them big truck vans pulled right in between us off the left lane. Going down an icy hill where the highway turns into the freeway, the truck was going too fast to stop on the ice. He hooked the car we were following and turned its back end right around in a circle in his attempt to slow down. Once the truck went sideways, he basically sandwiched the car between him and the guard rail. Meanwhile I was sliding around trying to slow the car down and turn us around to head back to the where everything was. The van ended up between the ditches, and well the car ended up almost right next to it, but in much worse condition. If anyone wants to know what a Skyline R34 GT-R looks like in the shape of a tin can, I will try and get some pics tomorrow morning. My phone had no juice left in it so I went to the van to check on the driver and use his radio. After walking through two feet of snow, I reached the van where the driver was too much in shock to do anything. He just sat there quivering while some other guy that pulled over called for EMS. It took a bit of time to get a door open to let the girls out. The driver walked away from the car with a bruised knee from going into the dash and one heck of a headache, wheras the passenger was not so lucky. She was knocked unconscious and dislocated her shoulder - my guess is from the seat belt, and we found out she had some internal bleeding when we got to the hospital. When we left the hospital, the doctors had her stabilized and decked out on some heavy drugs to keep her asleep.
Every time I look back, I keep thinking this could have been me or my girlfriend, but then I realize just how lucky we are and appreciate the fact that everyone is now safe. Hope everyone elses' holiday season goes well and everyone have a good Christmas!:)

WOW... good to hear no one was seriously injured and that you weren't at all.

Here's to wishing everyone a SAFE and happy Christmas and New Year's. Everyone PLEASE remember to drive carefully and watch out for the "other guy" that may not be driving so carefully. There are way too many people on the roads that either just don't know how to drive worth crap or are too distracted, to drive properly. Not to mention the ones that have a couple too many drinks at the Christmas or New Years party and still think they can drive home.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to all.... Have a great time, enjoy your family and friends and above all..... BE SAFE!!!! Get drunk, get wasted, whatever ... but TAKE A CAB!!!
